While it is highly recommended for your child to attend all tryouts to maximize their chances of earning a spot on the team, we understand that certain circumstances, such as illness or unavoidable conflicts, may arise. Here’s why attending all tryouts is important and how we handle exceptions:

Why Attendance Matters

  1. Comprehensive Evaluation: Attending all tryouts allows our coaching staff to assess your child’s skills, athleticism, and potential over multiple sessions. Consistent participation gives us a clearer picture of their abilities, effort, and teamwork.
  2. Consistency and Improvement: Multiple tryout sessions provide your child with the opportunity to showcase their progression, adapt to coaching feedback, and demonstrate their commitment to the team.
  3. Team Dynamics: Coaches evaluate not only individual skills but also how players fit into the team’s dynamics. Regular attendance helps us observe how your child interacts with teammates and contributes to the overall team environment.

If Your Child Can’t Attend All Tryouts

We understand that life happens, and your child may not be able to attend every session. If this is the case:

  1. Notify the Academy: Please inform us as early as possible if your child will miss any tryout sessions. Communication is key to ensuring coaches can adjust their evaluation process accordingly.
  2. Alternative Arrangements: In some cases, we may offer additional opportunities for your child to showcase their skills, such as private evaluations or participation in other academy sessions.
  3. Consideration of Previous Performance: If your child has previously participated in our programs or games, our coaching staff may take that into account when evaluating their eligibility for the team.

Ultimately, attending all tryouts provides the best chance for your child to earn a spot on the team, as it allows our coaches to conduct a thorough and fair assessment. However, we strive to be understanding and accommodating to ensure every player has an equal opportunity to succeed. If you have specific concerns or conflicts, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us so we can find a solution together.

If your child is U12 and younger, we anticipate being able to accommodate all players within Osner’s FC Academy-sponsored team.
